Healthy Start
Healthy Start is a home-visiting program that provides parent education and support for parents with stress factors that make parenting an even tougher job. We strive to help parents in Guilford County by reducing parental stress, develop and enhance parenting skills, and nurture child development while creating a positive living environment. Healthy Start families will participate in the evidence-based Nurturing Parenting curriculum to lower risk factors of child abuse and neglect and strengthen family units. Services are free, voluntary, available in Spanish and may include the use of interpreting services.
The program mission is to reduce parental stress by providing caregivers with education and support to help with the everyday challenges of being a parent.
Healthy Start participants can receive:
- Parent & Child Attachment/Bonding Education
- Prenatal education
